ABOUT CARS AND KIDS

Our Mission
The Cars and Kids program provides and interactive educational seminar that is designed to bring teens and parents together to learn about the responsibilities and consequences of owning and operating a vehicle. This course will provide families with knowledge of the potential dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, consequences of breaking the law and how to protect themselves both legally and financially in the event of a serious accident.

Our Program
Each and every one of us has encountered the realities of youthful operators at one time or another. Whether it is through your own teen’s successes and failures or those of others, the experience can be quite frustrating and sometimes even deadly.

The need to better educate teen drivers is evident by the fact that automobile accidents are the #1 cause of death among teenagers in America today. Recent evidence points to the ability to reduce these numbers by actively involving the parents in the day to day activities of their teens. This need is not currently being met, as a majority of the education process for driving does not include parental participation.

Cars and Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization that can help reduce the likelihood of local teenagers being involved in a serious automobile accident. Our mission is to help bring parents and their teenagers together in a neutral learning environment to talk about today’s traffic safety issues. Area professionals will help families protect themselves legally and financially in the event of an accident or other moving violation. Featured speakers include MADD/SADD Chapters of ND, Cahill Law Firm, Dawson Insurance Agency, and the Fargo Police Department.

The program is free to the public and is being hosted on a bi-monthly basis in the Dakota West Boardroom of Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND. Registration is required to attend, and families are encouraged to call 701-866-3761 or email info@carsandkids.net to participate.
